ExperienceI am a professor of English. I teach Introduction to College Writing as well as Review for College Writing (a preparatory course for College Writing), as well as literature courses.
I tutor students learning English as a second language, as well as students in high school and college writing courses. In addition, I have tutored students preparing for college, law school, and graduate school entrance exams.
My classroom and tutoring students tend to make impressive improvements, while also learning to enjoy the process of writing.
HobbiesI have two teenagers, one of whom just graduated from high school. I spent a lot of time this year encouraging her through the many essays she had to write for college admissions.
As you would expect, I love to read. Besides literature and the research that I read for work, I enjoy memoirs and detective stories.
My late grandmother taught me how to quilt, and I enjoy sewing, especially while watching television. Beyond that, I am a dedicated inhabitant of my front porch.
